Rolling Stones to play in Montenegro
The Rolling Stones have announced that they are to play in Montenegro as part of a new pan-European tour that features many eastern European destinations.
The seminal UK rock group will play in the town of Budva on July 9th 2007 and the band say they hope to celebrate the country's independence, the Reuters news agency reports. In addition to the usual western European venues, the Stones will also play in Hungary, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Czech Republic and Russia as part of the 'A Bigger Bang European Tour'.
Frontman Mick Jagger is quoted as saying: "We've got a lot of places we haven't been before, which is exciting and some old favourites and the gigs we did not do on the last tour."
The tour also sees the Rolling Stones play in Moscow for only the second time in their history, following a stadium concert in 1998. A Bigger Bang, the Stones' last album, was warmly received by critics after its release in 2005, with many claiming that it was their best album for a number of years.
