New Stamp Duty in Bulgaria
From March 2008 there is a new stamp duty which varies
depending on the municipality where the real estate is located.
For the Municipality of Sofia the stamp duty is 2.5%, for
Nessebar - 2.3%, for Varna - 3%. It also varies for other
municipalitites. The new law says that the Municipality determines by
an ordinance the exact amount of the stamp duty and sets up
only the bottom of 2% and the top of 4% of the price entered in the
Notary Deed.
