About Costa Blanca
The Costa Blanca is a 170 mile stretch of Spain's south east coast, centered on Alicante and running from Denia in the North to Mojacar in the south. It's famous for the mega resort of Benidorm, with its superb beaches and pulsating nightlife. While this resort is great for an evening out, there's actually very little residential property there. The main areas for privately owned villas are north of Benidorm, from Altea to Denia. A latecomer to the tourist scene in comparison to its neighbours the Costa Brava and the Costa del Sol the climate of the Costa Blanca is exceptional and the area around Denia has been named as the third healthiest place to live by the world health organisation. The temperatures are usually mild and gentle with an average of 18ºC. The humidity is low and for those who suffer from arthritis, moving here can be especially helpful. The beaches are simply some of the best around the Mediterranean.
To the North, a curtain of mountains runs parallel to the sea, descending at times to form cliffs; to the South, a vast plain of sand patches, palm trees and salt deposits make up the backdrop for the beaches. The traveller can choose any of the corners of this coast, from the most bustling and cosmopolitan to those, which still maintain their rural air beside the sea. In any case, the trip to the nearby regions is well worth the venture for they make up a fine representation of the typical Mediterranean countryside. From the valleys, which are covered with stepped orchards and keep alive its Moorish past, to the palm trees of unmistakable African origin, the horizons of the Costa Blanca offer the most varied attractions
The old section of Altea is perched on top of a hill from which a splendid view can be had. The ascent, along steep slopes and stepped streets, reveals a broad horizon at every turn and extends along the entire La Marina region: the silhouette of the Peñon de Ifach on one side and the Helade range on the other, frame the view of the sea, with the gulls sweeping low over the town. Heading inland, the Bernia range runs perpendicular to the coast and very close the village. Throughout the Costa Blanca, but especially around Benidorm with the theme park Terra Mitica, the traveller will find all kinds of festivals, aqua parks, watersports, horse riding, tennis and much more for their leisure time.
South Costa Blanca, from Gran Alacant to La Manga, and also to Mazarron on the Costa Calida. This region of South East Spain has grown over recent years into an area popular both as a holiday resort and for permanent living. Gran Alacant is only 15 minutes from Alicante airport and here in a delightful complex a rural village has been created, with plazas and fountains, we offer some desirable properties in this area. Nearby is the charming old town of Santa Pola, with a busy port, a good variety of shops and restaurants, and a long stretch of golden beach.
Further south is Torrevieja, once a small fishing village and now grown into a sophisticated and beautiful town, with many parks, tree lined paseos and fountains. There is the original old port where the fishermen still bring in their catches, and from there, are boat trips around the coastline or to the isle of Tabarca, the new and very busy marina has boats coming and going from various parts of Europe, many shops of all types to browse around, discos, night clubs, an aquapark, a summer fair, fiestas with parades through the town, several beautiful beaches, some within walking distance of the town centre, a huge variety of restaurants to suit all tastes and all pockets plus many more attractions to suit all the family members, whatever your taste may be.
The area immediately to the south of Torrevieja is known as the Playas de Orihuela where you may savour the delights of the many beautiful beaches and marinas to be found here beside the blue Mediterranean. You can explore the unspoilt coves of Playa Flamenca, the superb beaches of La Zenia, Cabo Roig, La Manga, or Campoamor, with an equally beautiful beach and marina. Just a few minutes inland by car are the superb golf courses for which this area is renowned, also there is tennis, green bowling and horse riding scenic countryside, with many small and typically Spanish villages to explore.
